The business operations of Bullyland GmbH have been sold. This already happened in spring, but for legal reasons it was only allowed to be made public recently.

An investor solution has been found for the insolvent toy manufacturer Bullyland. The business was sold to the newly founded Bullyworld GmbH. The sale was accompanied by a move of the company. The producer moved from the former company headquarters in Spraitbach in Baden-Württemberg to the premises of the new investor in Nußdorf am Chiemsee. Now Bullyworld belongs to the Eberl Group. Eberl is an internationally active logistics company with around 300 employees. Managing Director Thomas Eberl: “We are enthusiastic and convinced about the Bullyland figures and are very pleased to bring the Bullyland brand back on the road to success together with our existing and new employees. Our location here on the beautiful Chiemsee offers all the prerequisites for us to succeed in this. Here we can also use existing synergies effectively. The expertise from the logistics sector is intended to meet the changed market requirements of the toy industry. The goals are also a consistent reorientation and the expansion of new distribution channels in order to secure a sustainable market position in the long term.

Bullyland transfers licence agreements

The sales process was accompanied by Michael Pluta. In September 2018, the Local Court of Aalen appointed him as provisional insolvency administrator of Bullyland GmbH. The toy manufacturer was in a tailspin due to unexpected liquidity bottlenecks. Pluta immediately gained an initial overview and continued business operations with his team. “All orders will continue to be processed as usual”, the restructuring expert stated at the time. The management consultancy IMAP also provided support in the search for a partner and assisted in the investor process. The purchase contract had already been signed in March of this year. “In order to take over the business, the license agreements had to be transferred to the new legal entity. The entire process was very complex and therefore took longer,” said Pluta. For legal reasons, the investor solution could not be officially communicated until the transfer of all license agreements had been completed.

Partner Pummeleinhorn continues cooperation

Bullyland was founded in 1973 in Spraitbach near Stuttgart. The portfolio includes high-quality toy figures and licensed game figures. The products are made of PVC-free base material and painted by hand. Numerous characters from Disney films are among them as well as figures around the topics horses, farm or dinosaurs. The popular Pummeleinhorn is also included. Pummeleinhorn GmbH and Bullyworld GmbH have now extended their license agreement by three years. The partnership has existed since 2017. Numerous detailed Bullyworld collectible figures of the pudgy unicorn and his friends have been published. In addition to various poses of the fluffy main character and a zodiac sign series, the first friends from the glitter world were published last year. Despite Bullyland’s insolvency, Pummeleinhorn GmbH maintained its partnership. Already in this month further new collectable figures around Pummel & Friends are to appear.
