Gallery Shoes: Kids Zone exhibitors deliver a positive verdict on the shoe fair premiere
According to organiser, the Igedo Company, exhibitors, buyers, and association representatives delivered a positive verdict on the first Gallery Shoes in Düsseldorf, with words such as “free, relieved, fresh, and a real departure”. On the Böhler Site, something “new, powerful, contemporary, and modern” has been built. Following the end of the GDS, there has been an irreplaceable “new beginning in Düsseldorf, which has been an international shoe fair city for more than 60 years”.
Even the weather cooperated, making an industry get-together possible in the outside areas. At the new shoe fair from 27 to 29 August, around 9200 European buyers attended to view more than 500 international brands from 16 countries.
“We are relieved by this consistent confirmation from the industry,” says Ulrike Kähler, Project Director for Gallery & Gallery Shoes. “In just under 6 months, we worked hard in every area to lay a stable foundation. It is the perfect starting point to continue working on our pulling power for more international buyers, especially from Northern Europe.” The concept to achieve this is coherent and suitable. The fair is held in the elaborately restored industrial halls of the Böhler Site, giving it a contemporary feel. The international pulling power of the brands is a given.
There were also positive words on the part of numerous exhibitors in the Kids Zone for children’s shoes. “It was a good start. The location and the halls are very appealing. In addition to many customers from Germany, we also had visitors from other European countries,” said Ombretta Scocco, Marketing Manager of Falcotto/Naturino. Regarding the organisation, Scocco believes there is still some fine-tuning to do, but in the end the result for her was good.
Frans van Helvoirt, Managing Director and owner of Hip Shoe Style, who have been exhibiting in Düsseldorf for about 20 years, commented: “We are very satisfied and are very happy to come back. The location looks beautiful and the atmosphere is great. I really mean it. What I particularly liked was the organisation: simple and uncomplicated! We received quick feedback and the organisers are very friendly.”
The next dates for Gallery Shoes on the Köhler Site in Düsseldorf are 11-13 March and 2-4 September 2018.
