Pitti Bimbo launches new format: “Activelab”

The next issue of the Pitti Bimbo (18th to 20th January) is all about “Cinema”. In addition to the experimentally designed Kidzfizz platform, the makers are launching the “Activelab”, another format in the Fortezza da Basso. Under the umbrella of the new division in the Cavaniglia Pavilion, the aim is to bundle international brands that decisively influence children’s fashion with loans from sportswear, urban and active wear.

A trend that has a lasting effect on children’s fashion in particular. The first Activelab exhibitors include Bangbang Copenhagen, Duukies Beachsocks, Gardner And The Gang, Kukukid, Loud Apparel, Tom Joule, Wheat, How To Kiss A Frog Stockholm, Jborn Kids, Barn of Monkey and Kids on the Moon as well as Lucky No. 7, Mouse in a House and Oji.

New formats extend the program

The Kidzfizz format takes place in the Medici Pavilion and the Archivi, this time curated by Storagemilano. The Sala della Ronda will also host a fashion show with selected labels on the second day of the fair (Friday, 19 January). The new brands and those that are present again in the kidzfizz area include Bandits London, Collegien, DUO Boys and Mini Me Girls, Gosoaky, Lenki Lenki, Maan, Mum of Six, Oeuf, Oscar et Valentine Cachemire as well as Rock’ n Lullaby, Tocoto Vintage and Ubang.

Traditionally, the joint show of the Spanish brands takes place again. “Children’s Fashion from Spain ” will be shown on Thursday 18th January at the Salla della Ronda.

The luxury children’s fashion concept “Apartment” also invites you to a fashion show. In the Lyceum of the Fortezza da Basso, the intention is to give the corresponding brands greater visibility. These include Amelie et Sophie, Atelier Choux Paris, Belle Enfant, Caramel, Emile et Ida, Piccola Ludo, Pom d’ Api, Minna Parikka Mini, Miss L.Ray, Moon Paris, Nikolia, Pe’ Pe’, Olive and Owa Yurika as well as The Small Gatsby, Velveteen, Pèro and Raspberry Plum.

A very special anniversary

For the first time the Fortezza da Basso will open in the evening. The fashion label Monnalisa celebrates its 50th anniversary with a special event: „The Golden Age”. Catwalk shows, music and cocktails will take place at the Central Pavilion from 7.30 pm on 18 January.

After the great success last January, the collaboration with the Bologna children’s book fair at Pitti will continue. In the lower part of the main pavilion is the “Extraordinary Library 2” where over a hundred illustrated books show the history of cinema, the magic of ballet and opera and the wonders of acrobatics and circus art.

Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of the organizer Pitti Immagine will probably focus on the strategic internationalization of Pitti Bimbo with the ongoing optimization of the trade fair program. 60 percent of the exhibitors came from abroad during the summer edition 2017. The spectrum ranged from Europe and the Middle East to the USA. Once again, exhibitors are likely to come from around 60 countries.
