2019 starts at Alvi with a fresh breeze in sales. Andree Schmeier will take over sales management from the middle of the year.

From 1 July 2019 Andree Schmeier will be the new sales manager of the textile company Alvi GmbH in Höxter. The 46-year-old will then be responsible for all sales activities of the traditional company.

“I am looking forward to being part of the Alvi team from now on and of course to all new challenges as sales manager. After working for the Dorel Juvenile Group for many years, I wanted to take on new tasks – but I definitely wanted to work for a market leader again. My experience on the Dutch market will help me to expand sales structures together with Nine & Co and the intensive training by Mr. Blümel will enable me to never disregard Alvi’s brand core”, Schmeier announces.

Alvi calls for Schmeier as successor for Blümel

Schmeier is a trained wholesale and foreign trade merchant and has extensive industry experience. He worked for the Dorel Juvenile Group, a company for children’s products, for a total of 16 years. Ten of these years as sales manager in the specialist trade sector in Germany and Austria. Here he was responsible for the personnel of the specialist trade team, including field sales.

“In his new position at Alvi, he reports directly to the management. Schmeier replaces the previous sales manager Klaus Blümel, who will retire from active working life on 1 July 2019 after selling the company to Nine & Co in the Netherlands,” according to a current press release.

“The sale of the company to Nine & Co in the Netherlands seemed to me a good time to end my active career as a sales manager. I am pleased to have found Mr. Schmeier as my successor, an experienced man from the industry. Until I leave the company on 7 June 2019, we will use this time together to live the “Alvi-DNA” intensively. It is important to me that Mr. Schmeier understands our brand core and can continue the business successfully,” said Blümel.

Nine & Co is an investment of the Vendis Capital company based in Brussels. The company owns brands such as Noppies, Esprit mum and Imps & Elfs. At the beginning of 2018, the group took over the traditional manufacturer Alvi to strengthen its position in Europe.

Alvi has been developing the best possible sleeping accommodation for babies and toddlers since 1961. The range includes sleeping bags, mattresses, changing mattresses, bedding and furniture. A total of 170 employees work at the Höxter and Jelenia Góra locations in Poland. The products are sold in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
