The Swedish trade fair for children’s equipment Blob is being relaunched and will take place this year from 8 to 9 October in Gothenburg.
The Swedish Blob Fair was organised for the first time in Stockholm in 2016 by the trade fair organiser BraMässor Sverige AB in cooperation with the Lek & Baby Industry Association and the magazine Lek & Babyrevyn. At the second edition in 2017, also in Stockholm, the Babyproffsen chain was also a partner of the fair. After a one-year break, the children’s apparel fair will be relaunched. It will take place in Gothenburg from 8 to 9 October 2019 at the new exhibition centre next to Hotel Åbymässan. Blob is the only fair in Sweden that focuses exclusively on the world of babies and children.
Blob moves to Gothenburg
With Gothenburg as an easily and quickly accessible location, the organiser hopes to attract many additional visitors. “We have decided to move to Gothenburg instead of Stockholm in this coming issue. We believe we will reach a different audience than in Stockholm and there is a gap to fill in this region of Sweden”, explains Charlotte Frantzén, Event Manager of the Blob.
The fair will kick off with a party on 8 October. Babyproffsen remains a trade fair partner. “I am very happy that Blob is back after a year’s break. We are happy to be able to participate in the fair again. The meetings between our branches and all our efficient suppliers are building up the industry excellently and, last but not least, it is building up the knowledge base of our employees in such a way that we can continue to be the professionals in the baby industry,” says Mikael Forsell, Managing Director of Babyproffsen.
Blob expands assortment
Blob is a compact two-day fair where trade visitors from shops in Sweden and the Nordic region can present their products. In addition to the baby products on offer, this year Blob will also be exhibiting interior design for children’s rooms and children’s clothing. Frantzén says: “We are continuing to expand into the home and decorating sectors and have decided to concentrate on the B2B sector.”
Blob shows products for children from 0 to 10 years. These include child car seats, prams, carriers, toys, child safety products, care products, children’s room furnishings and products for mothers.
The Blob, according to Frantzén, is also interesting for German visitors: “I believe that German visitors will have the opportunity to meet both Swedish and other Scandinavian brands that they won’t find at international trade fairs. They will have the opportunity to discover new and interesting brands. We know from experience that Scandinavian design and technology are very popular.”
