In addition to children’s fashion fairs such as the Bubble London or the Kleine Fabriek in Amsterdam, the German order fair Kids Now will now also be discontinued. Trade fair organiser Muveo has announced that the edition planned for January 2019 will not take place.

For over three decades, Kids Now was an established event in the trade fair calendar of many exhibitors and visitors. The order fair in the Messecenter Rhein-Main in Hofheim-Wallau thus closes its doors.

The trade fair organiser Muevo says goodbye to the exhibitors and trade visitors with the following words: “Umbruch, Konzentration, Vertikalisierung (…) the constant process of change in which the children’s fashion industry currently finds itself has indeed many names. Our goal has always been to stay in motion, to adapt to new circumstances and to provide the necessary impetus. Unfortunately, it is no longer possible for us as organizers to offer the industry an adequate trade fair platform under the current framework conditions. After more than 3 decades, we have therefore decided not to carry out the KIDS NOW format any more from next year, but to take on new challenges. We very much regret this decision, but hope for your understanding and would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks to you once again”.

Falling visitor numbers

Due to repeated efforts to bring the Kids Now back into the focus of the trade fair events through new labels, the organiser Muevo was unable to counteract the declining visitor frequency. Even the idea of organising Kids Now together with the Children’s Shoe Order Days did not increase the number of registrations in Hofheim. As a result, the organisers have decided to close the Kids Now.

The Children’s Shoe Order Days will take place in 2019 in the popular trade fair locations of Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Breitscheid, Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Zurich.
