Ever since her stunning bridesmaids dresses for the British Royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, Nicki Macfarlane is the number one for exclusive childrens occasional wear. Since Thursday, the British designer and Barbara Frères boutique in Dusseldorf offer bespoke girls dresses for special occasions.

Customers can choose from three standard models and two different fabrics, which are either silk or organza. Then they can select the colour of the dress, the sash and for some dresses even the hem. Finally the customer decides upon buttons, the cut of sleeves and for selected models even the length of the dress.

“A Nicki Macfarlane dress is unique because of the quality of the fabrics used and the fact that the customer has the opportunity to choose their own colours and style details to make it their own,” the designer tells us. “Every piece is handmade with enormous care by the team in London.”

Depending on model and materials, a bespoke dress starts at 450 Euro and a standard order takes ten weeks to completion. The new online service will be available on the Barbara Frères website in three weeks time, but the standard dresses are also available to view in the boutique.
