The traditional company Kiddy got the nod for its reorientation: The creditors have accepted the restructuring plan and the district court Hof has legally confirmed it.
The insolvency was triggered by turbulence within the Chinese joint venture company. A number of crimes were committed there. These incidents put Kiddy in a temporarily difficult position. Losses in the millions were associated with this. As a result, the company went into insolvency under its own management which was initiated in the middle of last year. A restructuring concept had already been developed in advance. After the creditors and the local court have agreed, the program is implemented. It provides for an organizational realignment as well as an operational and financial focus. After eight months of restructuring, the GmbH was released into self-administration. There were no insolvency-related layoffs during the proceedings. Instead, the focus was on new hires to further position Kiddy as an international premium brand.
Kiddy implements strategic realignment
Kiddy Managing Director Bettina Würstl: “I would like to thank everyone for the massive encouragement and the impressive support of all parties, business partners and my employees involved. She and her team are now continuing to implement the strategic measures. The company sees great growth potential in the realignment and new long-term development opportunities for its employees. As a specialist in the field of child safety, Kiddy wants to work increasingly on product innovations. This is intended to continue the successful test winner series of recent years.
Test winner series continued: 1st place at Stiftung Warentest
This point proves to be successful: In the current test by Stiftung Warentest and ADAC, the Evoluna i-Size infant carrier is the winner in the 0+ i-Size group. 26 seats were tested. Kiddy’s seat was the only product to receive the “very good” rating. The infant carrier is not only safe but also contains an innovation: it offers a patented reclining function that can also be used in the car. This is made possible by Kiddy Lie-Flat Technology. By folding down the carrying handle, the slatted frame inside the carrycot is brought into a flat lying position. The testers concluded: “Very good ECE-R 129 (“i-Size”) approved carrycot with Isofix base which can remain in the car and on which the carrycot can be fitted quickly and easily. To improve the comfort for the baby, the shell can be brought into a flatter lying position”.
