The China Kids Expo took place in Shanghai from 16 to 18 October 2018. As expected, the fair was a great success for both exhibitors and visitors.

“Inspired by Kind + Jugend” – that was the motto of this year’s China Kids Expo in Shanghai. Also in 2018 there was a German joint participation in cooperation with the Cologne fair. German products and companies were able to present themselves at a joint stand. Under the “Made in Germany” umbrella, they benefited from favourable conditions, as well as a common infrastructure within the hall and professional support.

German exhibitors particularly popular

German exhibitors of baby and children’s equipment and educational products enjoyed a high number of visitors to their stands in the German Pavilion. German quality continues to be an important criterion for Asian trade buyers.
Exhibitors included Fond of, Goki, Hebacare, Jakobs, Pickapooh, Pololo and Pumpkin Organics.

Leading trade fair in the Asian region

A total of around 3616 brands from over 30 countries exhibited at the centrally located SNIEC site in the New International Expo Centre. The product range of the Chinese trade fair ranged from hardware such as prams and car seats to child safety products. There was also children’s fashion and textiles as well as learning and nutrition products and licensed articles. In conjunction with the parallel events China Toy Expo, China Licensing Expo and China Preschool Expo, the B2B trade fair thus offers almost everything to do with babies and children and is regarded as the leading trade fair in Asia.

Almost 80,000 international visitors

This year around 80,000 international visitors from 134 countries were welcomed. The top visitor countries included China, South Korea, Russia, Pakistan, USA, Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, India, Iran and Australia. Denis Steker, Division Manager at International Koelnmesse, commented in a press release: “Since we are increasingly linking our events in the Kid segment with one another and are also transferring our Cologne expertise to our international events in coordination with our subsidiaries, there are clearly positive developments to be felt.
