Together with its cooperation partner BTE Handelsverband Textil, the leading trade fair for the baby and toddler sector Kind + Jugend would like to list exhibitors with sustainable production separately in future.

“The trade association examines the evidence submitted by the exhibitors (certifications / seals) with regard to the products exhibited. Currently, only textiles are checked for sustainability aspects and then listed. We are also talking to other potential partners so that we can present other sustainability aspects as well,” says Christine Hackmann, Communications Manager Koelnmesse GmbH.

Sustainably producing companies

Interested companies wishing to appear on the sustainability list should send the following documents to the BTE:

– proof of which recognised seal (e.g. GOTS or Oekotex etc.) is used in the company

– proof of the initiatives in which the company is involved

– a sustainability report, if available (short version)

– a pdf-file (incl. illustration and test seal) of an exemplary product which will be exhibited at Kind + Jugend

The BTE Handelsverband carries out a formal audit and places the company on the Kind + Jugend sustainability list if the criteria are met. The leading trade fair for the baby and toddler sector publishes the list with the information that sustainably produced textiles are demonstrably used in these companies. The deadline for interested companies is 4 August 2019.
