Paade Mode presented at Pitti Bimbo 83 in Florence with a clear vision. The sustainable Slow Fashion label from Lithuania sent a promising collection out on the catwalk – including some clashing styles.

Paade Mode is thrilling the fashion world with distinctive designs, with elaborate and detailed designs taking centre stage. With its A/W 2015 collection, the Latvian fashion label attained international fame. Since then, the material mixes, colour accents, and classic cuts have become synonymous with Paade and its outstanding style.

On 24 July, Paade introduced its Spring / Summer 17 collection “Sun Daze” for the first time, as part of PITTI BIMBO 83. The fashion company’s colourful and accent-setting collection was presented together with Andorine, Leitmotiv, Longlivethequeen, Mr Uky und Vivetta, the other creative labels taking part in the KidzFIZZ fashion show. Designer Linda Raituma was inspired by the delicate details seen in microscopic images of petals, pollen, and plants, together with the full rich flower meadows of spring and summer.

Elements of this inspiration can be seen in the form of embroidery, the choice of materials, but also in the brand signature and the colour blocking. The clear lines in the cuts create flowing easy transitions between the colour combinations and the mix of materials, including Liberty linen, polka dot cotton, embroidered silk, tulle, jacquard and light knitwear. The collection includes pieces for girls and boys aged 6 months to 16 years.

“It’s my passion to develop designs that tell a story, that have a traditional touch, and that form a bridge to the modern,” said Linda Raituma of the current collection. The designer speaks with equal emphasis of the need for foregrounding sustainable production. As a result, she works with Paade to use EU-manufactured materials and to work with locally based producers.
