Pitti Bimbo 87 – with new charisma into the 2019 summer season
557 brands, including around 347 international exhibitors and 146 new labels, can once again look forward to exciting events and collections in the coming summer edition (21 – 23 June 2018) of the leading international trade fair for children’s wear. Season after season, the Pitti Bimbo 87 has become the leading fashion fair, presenting original projects and innovative collections in the areas of “Sport Generation”, “Super Street”, “#ActiveLab”, “KidsFizz”, “Fancy Room”, “Ecoethic” and “The Nest”.

This season, the 87th edition of Pitti Immagine Bimbo benefits from the support of the Italian Ministry of Economic Development (MiSE – Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico) and the Italian Trade Agency (Agenzia ICE) in the scope of the special plan 2018-2019 to support Italian trade fairs. This scholarship is actively involved in the development of hospitality, the media, international relations and promotional activities.
New trade fair theme: Pitti Optical Power
Geometric shapes in bold colors that evoke a colorful and particularly exuberant atmosphere – the 87th edition of the trade fair thematically focuses on visual 3D effects, new dimensions and spaces. Designed by designer Sergio Colantuoni, the new exhibition design is intended to promote positivity and express the optimism of the summer. This includes in particular the “P.O.P Arena” – a new bar/lounge area as a special Pitti experience for exhibitors and visitors.
Highlights of this issue
In addition to the numerous catwalk shows, many brands are making their debut and are returning to the Fortezza da Basso: For the first time, women’s wear designer Lorenzo Serafini is launching the children’s line of “Philosophy”. Produced and distributed under the license from “Gimel”. Moreover, the Italian label Dondup will return to Pitti Bimbo and present its new brand course with a press conference within the P.O.P. Arena in which industry expert Matteo Marzotto will also take part. This edition of the renowned Monnalisa Garden Party is under the motto “Fabolous Fifties” and takes place externally in the romantic Torrigiani Gardens. Furthermore, DSquared2 participates at the Pitti Bimbo for the first time and communicates its fifth anniversary with a special capsule collection. Other newcomers and brand highlights include: Alberta Ferretti, Bikkenbergs, Custo Barcelona, Daniele Alessandrini, GCDS and Paciotti.
Last season about 10,000 guests, including 5300 buyers, visited the summer edition. Once again, exhibitors are expected to come from around 60 countries.
