One of the most important international children’s fashion fairs “Pitti Bimbo”, which took place from 21 to 23 June in Florence, attracted around 572 exhibitors for the presentation of the Spring/Summer 2019 season. With numerous events, debut presentations and fashion shows as an integral part of the children’s fashion fair, the 87th edition records an increase in visitor numbers after just one day.

Russia remains at the top

According to initial evaluations, the “Pitti Bimbo 87” edition recorded a small but significant increase in the numbers of Italian and international buyers of around + 1%. In particular from the international markets, buyers from Russia (+ 4%, again at the top of the international markets), Spain (+ 2%), Germany (+ 5% ), Great Britain (+ 10%), Belgium (+ 25%), Turkey (+ 28%), Japan (+ 75%), Korea (+ 17%), Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia. The figures from the United States and the United Arab Emirates remained stable, but with a slight decline in visitor numbers from China, Holland, France and Ukraine.

Optimism in the industry

Pitti Bimbo once again celebrated the market potential of the children’s fashion industry with the motto “Pitti Optical Power”. In this edition, too, brands and their collections received a positive response from buyers and the press. Another cornerstone will be fruitful cooperation and project investments.
