Is there hope for the Recaro brand? On October 24, 2018, Recaro Holding GmbH and the international Artsana Group signed a global license agreement. The agreement covers the development, production and distribution of premium children’s seats and prams under the Recaro brand name.

In the agreement, Recaro Holding as licensor grants a long-term license to the Artsana Group as licensee for the worldwide use of the Recaro brand in relation to premium child seats and prams. The license will become effective upon completion of the transaction. The transaction is expected to be completed within the next few weeks following antitrust approval.

Artsana Group acquires rights from Recaro

With the validity of the license agreement, Artsana Group will acquire the rights to the existing Recaro Child Safety product portfolio. The aim is to maintain the current positioning in the premium market and to optimise it through new developments. The agreement gives the Artsana Group the opportunity to further expand its position in the “juvenile business” and to strengthen its presence in the main markets (mainly in Central and Northern Europe).

Ideal partner for the Recaro brand

Claudio De Conto, CEO of Artsana, said: “I am proud to add a premium brand like Recaro to our portfolio. We will respectfully enhance this strong brand by combining it with our ability to innovate, which has always characterized the development of all our products. We look forward to the launch of this exciting project, which will strengthen our market share in the premium market segment and strengthen Artsana’s position in the Juvenile Business in the main markets of Central and Northern Europe”.

Martin Putsch, shareholder and CEO of the Recaro Group, explains: “After a careful evaluation of potential licensing partnerships, we are convinced that we have found the ideal partner for the Recaro brand in Juvenile Business. Our two companies share the same values and standards in terms of quality and customer orientation”.
