Spielwarenmesse 2019: Electronic toys get their own section
Spielwarenmesse 2019 is coming up with some changes. Individual product groups are restructured or redesigned.
When the Spielwarenmesse 2019 opens its doors from 30 January to 3 February, visitors can look forward to some innovations. The organizers restructure individual product groups or redesign them from scratch. This is how the Electronic Toys product group celebrates its premiere. Here, placed in Hall 4A, RC vehicles, aircraft, robots and much more can be found. The new division is intended to provide specialist retailers and buyers with optimum orientation on all aspects of technology and digitalization. The Spielwarenmesse also reports a steadily growing number of well-known exhibitors with electronic toys. “The big players in this sector have already agreed to move to Hall 4A, where they will be in the best possible hands,” says Ernst Kick, CEO of Spielwarenmesse eG.
More space for festive items
There will also be changes in the product groups festive items, Carnival and fireworks in Hall 9. All the well-known suppliers and market leaders in this segment will be represented in Nuremberg. For this reason, the trade fair is expanding this exhibition area to include a section of Hall 8, while the enlargement of the exhibition area and the growing internationality will enable a broader representation of the product group. The highlight will be an action area of around 200 square meters. Exhibitors can present their products there in the form of fashion shows and presentations.
Spielwarenmesse 2019 reacts to market requirements
“These steps are necessary to meet the requirements of the market and thus to respond specifically to the needs of buyers and dealers,” says CEO Kick. Initial discussions with exhibitors on this topic had already taken place at the most recent event. The response so far has been positive – above all to the biggest move: The trade fair will bring together model railways (previously Hall 4A) and model making (previously Hall 7A) in Hall 7A. Both sectors address the same target groups. Therefore it is a logical step to unite these areas in one hall. Spielwarenmesse 2019 speaks of a good mix of well-known brand manufacturers and smaller niche suppliers.
Visitors should be able to find interesting additional assortments even faster
With the new hall structure, Spielwarenmesse 2019 promises its visitors future-oriented product innovations in a bundled form. This would enable them to find interesting additional ranges even faster which are suitable for individual business models. According to trade fair director Ernst Kick, this is an inevitable step. There would only be one challenge for retailers and buyers: “It would certainly take some getting used to meeting exhibitors at a new location at the beginning. But we are doing everything we can to make the new route as easy as possible.”
