Swandoo is looking to expand globally in 2019 with the addition of Nicolás C. Moeller as Sales and Marketing Manager.

The Austrian manufacturer of child seats Swandoo is expanding its family of companies and adding industry expert Nicolás C. Moeller to its team. As the new managing director for operative sales and marketing, he will support the company in its growth with his many years of experience.

Managing Director with extensive industry experience

Moeller has already worked for other well-known child seat manufacturers. As Vice President Global Sales at Kiddy, he was responsible for the relaunch of the brand and its internationalisation. At Cybex he was responsible for opening up new markets and at Recaro he was Director Global Sales. From the Munich office, he is now to help shape Swandoo’s expansion into European markets, including Germany.

“We are excited and delighted that Nicolás will join us in this important growth phase. With his outstanding knowledge and experience, he is a valuable addition. With the support of our existing dynamic team, we believe he will play a crucial role in achieving our immediate and long-term goals. Since our successful exhibition at this year’s Kind + Jugend, we have been talking to experts and distributors from various countries. Nicolás task will be to take responsibility for the further course of action,” says Swandoo founder Kenny Lai in a current press release.

Only recently, a new sales partner was appointed for Italy, Spain and Portugal. Moeller: “We will be represented in these markets by i-Size at the beginning of next year. The plans for Great Britain and the DACH markets are in full swing and we plan to distribute Albert i-Size there from the 2nd quarter of 2019.”

Swandoo plans Europe-wide distribution of Albert i-Size

The Albert i-Size infant carrier is Swandoo’s first product and is already being sold in several countries. The expansion of Albert i-Size’s distribution is one of the main goals for 2019 and therefore falls within Moeller’s remit.

Moeller commented: “Swandoo has made a remarkable name for itself in the industry in a very short space of time and is in the process of establishing itself in the premium brand segment with the features typical of Swandoo such as safety, performance and outstanding design. The design and technical development of all products in Europe gives the company a major competitive advantage. This enables Swandoo to respond individually to regional standards and makes the brand the recommended expert in the field of child seat safety. Swandoo will launch Albert i-Size in Europe in 2019 in close collaboration with the specialist trade. In the course of next year, we also plan to introduce more special child seats to ensure Swandoo’s high level of safety for children of all ages”.

Product range grows

Swandoo will expand its product range in the coming months. This includes the release of the Baby Tracker App in the second half of 2019 – an industry highlight that combines interactive functions with the child seat. “The app lets new parents document important information and milestones of their baby (…). Swandoo’s Baby Tracker will be available for free download in the App and IOS stores and can later be linked to Albert Go – the smart version of the Albert i-Size baby seat,” explains Moeller.

A further innovation is the Jody child seat. It is a 360° rotating i-Size child seat with four seat positions for children up to four years of age. “Delivery of this highly popular category is planned immediately after the Kind + Jugend trade fair in 2019. We also have other product developments on hold, but we don’t want to reveal too much yet,” Moeller concludes.
