Stress-free shopping – Görtz has been offering this service to its customers in Hamburg since mid-April. The new children’s shoe consultation takes place within the customer’s own four walls. There, children’s shoes can be tried on and then bought after a detailed consultation with a shoe expert.

The fashion company Görtz has revived a marketing idea that dates back to the 1930s – children’s shoe consulting in the customer’s own four walls. At that time a potato trolley served as a delivery trolley, today the children’s shoe expert drives up with a retro APE from Piaggio. She has a selection of children’s shoe models in her luggage.

Stress-free shopping

Interested parents can book a store employee, the child shoe fairy and take up a personal and stress-free consultation and try on the child shoe models at home in the used premises together with their children.

“We would like to continue to position ourselves as a children’s shoe expert with this service. Our analysis shows that the purchase of children’s shoes is seen by many parents as a stress factor. Here we want to help as competent partners and advisors“, so Amit Sinha, Director marketing and E-Commerce with Görtz.

Shoe choice

The desired models are taken from a questionnaire filled in by the parents beforehand. The questionnaire must include information on current stereotypes, brand preferences, size, gender and specific wishes. There is no minimum order quantity. For the time being, the new service is free of charge. Children’s shoes are offered for all ages. If desired by the parents, women’s or men’s shoes can also be brought along.

Booking of the child shoe consultation

The service will be offered to a selected clientele in Hamburg via newsletter. They can then make a booking by e-mail with the Görtz project manager Farina Böhme.

The moreover one the possibility exists to book the service also for several parents and children at the same time. It should be considered that the date reservation should be transacted at least one week in advance. At the moment the service is only offered in Hamburg. For the future an expansion is planned into conurbations.
